Linda Y. Leitz
PhD, CFP, EA and Co-Owner
Linda Y. Leitz is a Certified Financial Planner and has been in the financial industry since 1979. She is also enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Before becoming a financial professional, Linda held several executive positions in the banking industry. She began her career as a bank examiner. Linda has a BA in Business Administration from Principia College, an MBA from Southern Methodist University, and a PhD in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University.
Linda is active in many community and professional activities. She currently serves as chair of the national Board of Directors of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, having also serviced on the West Region Board of that organization. She is past president of the Pikes Peak Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and of the High Noon Sertoma Club. The Pikes Peak Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners named Linda the 1998 Business Owner of the Year. She has been or is currently involved with various organizations on their boards or other committees: The Colorado Springs Utilities Policy Advisory Committee, the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement and the Estate Planning Council. As a fee-only financial planner Linda is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, the Financial Planning Association, the National Association of Tax Professionals and the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners. As a leader in the financial planning industry Linda is the author of the book titled "The Ultimate Parenting Map to Money Smart Kids". She has been quoted in several national publications including the Wall Street Journal, U.S. News and World Report, and Morningstar Advisor and she has appeared on CSNBC. She also works as a volunteer instructor to new financial advisors with the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners.
Linda has three children. Her hobbies include reading, movies, hiking, and knitting.
Jane M. Young
CFP, EA and Co-Owner
Jane M. Young is a Certified Financial Planner and co-owner of It's Not Just Money, Inc. She has been a financial planner since 1996. She is also enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Jane provides comprehensive financial planning including investment management, retirement planning and tax planning and preparation. She also specializes in working with widows and widowers. Prior to becoming a financial planner Jane held several management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Quantum Corporation, where she worked for 14 years. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
Jane is very active in the community. She is a past president of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs and a past president of Leadership Pikes Peak. She is a graduate of the Leadership Pikes Peak class of 2004. She is a past president of the Financial Planning Association of Southern Colorado and a past president of the Pikes Peak Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Jane is the immediate past Chairperson of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, College of Business, Alumni Leadership Team. Jane is a 2009 graduate of the Leadership Program of the Rockies and a 2011 graduate the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute. She currently serves on the board of directors for Early Connections and is a member of the Colorado Springs Rotary Club, the Estate Planning Council, Artemis, and the Winter Nights Club.
Jane was selected as a 2010 Woman of Influence by the Colorado Springs Business Journal and was nominated for the 2014 Athena Award by the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance. She also received the Colorado Springs Gazette's 2014 "Best of the Springs" Silver Award for Best Financial Planner.
As a fee-only financial planner Jane is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, the Financial Planning Association, the National Association of Tax Professionals and the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners. She has been quoted in several local and national publications including The Wall Street Journal, US News and World Report, Consumer Reports, Investment News, MSN Money, Kiplinger Magazine, Financial Advisor Magazine, Bankrate.com and the Colorado Springs Business Journal. Jane is currently a personal finance columnist for the Colorado Springs Gazette. She also works as a volunteer instructor to new advisors with the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners.
Jane is from St. Louis, but grew up in Colorado Springs. She enjoys skiing, golfing, traveling, painting and learning to speak French.
Accountant / Operations Manager
Terri Schlabs is our accountant and Operations Manager. Terri worked at Digital Equipment Corporation for 10 years in finance and cost accounting. Terri Joined us in 2003. She has a BS in accounting from the University of Colorado. Terri loves to spend her free time outdoors- gardening, hiking, camping and skiing.
Financial Analyst / Web Content Manager
Suzy McDowell is our Financial Analyst and Web Content Manager. Suzy worked as a software engineer for over 25 years. She holds a BSBA and an MBA from the University of Colorado. Suzy performs financial analysis, securities trades and maintains our websites and social media presence. Suzy enjoys travel, golf, skiing and painting.
Client Services Manager
Genny Shymanik is our Client Services Manager. She was born and raised in Southeast Georgia and has an Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology from the College of Coastal Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, running and swimming. She is also an avid animal lover.
Associate Financial Analyst
Cale Ramhorst is our associate analyst. He has a Bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He grew up in New Jersey and enjoys sports and motorcycles.
