Focused Financial Review
All of our client relationships begin with a Focused Financial Review. Through this process
we provide our clients with an overview of their financial situation and answers to some of
their most pressing questions. They receive a sample of the services we offer without
committing to a full retainer relationship. If the Focused Financial Review meets a client's
needs they have no further obligation. However, if the client decides to become a regular
client the full amount paid for the Focused Financial Review is applied against their initial
retainer.
The Focused Financial Review includes one telephone appointment and a two-hour face-to-face
appointment with one of our Certified Financial Planners. In order to get the full benefit of
the meeting, we review the client's taxes and current asset allocation prior to the meeting.
The client is asked to do some homework in preparation for the meeting as well. A complimentary
copy of Bert Whitehead's book "Facing Financial Dysfunction: Why Smart People Do Stupid Things
with Money" is provided to provide a foundation for many of the topics we will be discussing.
Additionally, the client will be asked to provide a list of his three most burning questions?
We schedule a twenty-minute telephone appointment prior to the review meeting to get
clarification on the client's questions. Below is a potential list of topics that could be
discussed - as time permits.
- Review of prior returns for missed deductions
- Tax planning for the current year
- Review of current asset allocation and investment location for tax efficiency
- Evaluation of performance on current investments
- Review of Financial Life Cycle Position
- Retirement/Financial Independence Analysis
- Recommendation of holistic financial strategy
- Analysis of current costs being incurred for financial advice
- Recommendation of possible tax strategies to consider
- Options available for funding college education
- Budgeting and debt reduction strategies
- Other financial topics
During the two-hour review we may discuss the clients tax situation, asset allocation and
current investments, the client's money personality and their stage in the financial life
cycle. We also walk through the five fundamentals of fiscal fitness. We address the three
questions posed by the client in as much detail as time allows.
At the end of the two-hour meeting the client will leave with a written list of
recommendations and specific options. There is no further obligation on the part of the client
or It's Not Just Money, Inc. The fee for the Focused Financial Review is $750.
No tax preparation or investment implementation is included in this review. This in not a
full financial plan. It is an overview of the client's financial situation and a review of
limited aspects of their financial situation.
